The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA)’s online intervention program offers physicians and nurses free CME/CS credits through Medscape® for participating in an online video presentation about chronic drinking. The course offers four engaging, 10-minute video cases; a look at four heavy drinkers at different levels of severity and readiness to change; interactive learning exercises and a 17-minute tutorial with animated graphics. - Compare Area Hospitals
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recently re-launched their web-based Hospital Compare portal which allows users to review hospital care and outcome of care measures as well as patient surveys on hospital experiences. Users can format data into tables or graphs to review and compare information. Medicare reimbursements and surgical costs are also available online to help consumers judge whether or not to undergo elective procedures.
