Brevard’s Medical and Wellness Source…

Brevard’s premier source for dedicated health, wellness and medical information, National Health Review (NHR) provides comprehensive coverage of healthcare topics for the general public as well as for health care professionals. NHR presents the latest medical and health related news in an engaging and readable manner, tapping on local professionals for editorial input on their specific field of expertise.

NHR is a free quarterly community publication distributed by local health and medical providers via over 600 locations in Brevard, as well as through subscriptions and online via digital format e-zine. The content and magazine sponsors are devoted to health, wellness and medicine, including traditional medicine, anatomy, mental health, nutrition and exercise, senior health, complementary medicine, current events and a comprehensive community calendar.

National Health Review was honored with a Silver Addy from the local American Advertising Federation for its outstanding design.

Cynthia Cintron Calhoun, Founder/Owner/Publisher

A Miami native, Calhoun moved to Brevard in 2004. When her brother, a neurologist, commented on the need for relevant, localized medical information, Calhoun directed her two decades of experience in the market publishing and direct marketing fields into National Health Review. She founded Cordis Publishing, LLC, and produced National Health Review as its first title in 2006 as a vehicle for credible medical, health and wellness information at the local level.

Calhoun’s experience includes entrepreneurial, operational, administrative, consulting, branding, marketing and editorial for an international publishing firm and private contract companies in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and abroad in multiple Caribbean countries, South America and Mexico. In addition to assisting with the acquisition and management of multi-million dollar concession contracts with major cruise lines, including Holland America, Carnival Cruise Lines, Radisson Cruise Line and Costa Cruises, among others, Calhoun was responsible for hiring, training and managing personnel both on cruise ships and abroad. She has also served as consultant for international companies, scouting and opening suitable retail locations targeted at cruise passengers in the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean.

Both in the U.S. and internationally, Calhoun was tasked with recognizing the needs of specific demographic markets and creating programs aimed at maximizing client exposure and profitability. This experience positions her as a natural leader in niche market publishing.

“It’s important that our readers learn about health topics from the professionals and that they be able to access these providers in their communities. Readily available health information is important, but equally important is knowing where to go to get additional information, treatment and assistance” she said.

“Creating and publishing National Health Review has been the most rewarding project of my career. It is an honor to serve the needs of health providers and residents of Brevard County”
