Best Immunization Rate for Kindergarten

Prevention is the most important tool to control many infectious diseases, and one of the best tools available for prevention is proper vaccination. Many vaccine preventable diseases have been eliminated or occur very rarely in the United States due to proper vaccinations.

We are proud that Brevard County based on the 2007 2008 Florida annual immunization assessment of kindergarten student’s compliance rate is 97.4% for students being properly immunized. This rate is the best rate among large counties in the state of Florida. I would like to say thanks and congratulations to everybody involved – agencies, pediatricians, health department staff all for working hard to protect our children and helping to design a healthy community.
