Wuesthoff Foundation receives $7,000 gift from Panera Bread
[Brevard County, FL] Wuesthoff Health System Foundation received a $7,000 gift contribution from Panera Bread’s ‘Pink Ribbon’ Bagel promotion; a national campaign held each year to increase breast cancer awareness. Partnering for the past two years during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, both the health system and bread company encouraged customers to join the fight against breast cancer by purchasing pink ribbon bagels during the month of October.
“We were excited to have been asked to be Panera’s exclusive Brevard County partner for the second year in a row,” said Lisa Crites, Wuesthoff Health System Media Strategist. “Proceeds raised will be applied towards the purchase of new technology used for breast cancer detection, and ongoing breast cancer awareness, prevention, and education initiatives.”
Each year, during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Panera Bread follows the tradition of “thinking pink,” with their signature ‘Pink Ribbon’ bagels which are sold at more than 900 locations across the country.
“Panera Bread is committed to serving the members of the local community, many of whom have had their lives touched by breast cancer,” said Annette Ford, owner of Central Florida Panera Bread locations. “We are honored to support Wuesthoff in their quest to keep Brevard County women safe from this devastating disease.”
Panera Bread has three locations in Brevard County; 2290 Town Center Ave., (Avenues of Viera) in Viera, 4100 N. Wickham Road in Melbourne, and Eau Gallie Causeway in Melbourne.
