American Cancer Society Needs Volunteer Coordinators for The Road to Recovery Program

[Brevard County, FL] The American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program is seeking volunteer Coordinators throughout Brevard County to coordinate transportation for cancer patients undergoing treatment. Many of our patients have no alternative way to get to their cancer treatment. The Road to Recovery program provides transportation for cancer patients, free of charge.

A successful Road to Recovery Program can be a tremendous asset to the community. Volunteers provide an essential and necessary service. Even the greatest medical advance is useless if the patient cannot get to treatment. As Shakespeare’s King Richard III said, “My kingdom for a horse,” many patients are pleading, “My life for a ride.”

For more information on how to become a Road Coordinator please call Amy Young at 321-433-3109 ext. 111. Training is provided.
